Engineering colleges in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir are affiliated to State Universities like University of Kashmir, University of Jammu and other Deemed universities like Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University and Islamic University of Science and Technology. Engineering colleges listed below are also approved by All India Council for Technical Education. Srinagar districtNational Institute of Technology, Srinagar{{main|National Institute of Technology, Srinagar}}The National Institute of Technology, Srinagar is the best engineering college in Jammu and Kashmir. It is a national engineering institute located in Hazratbal, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India, along with other NITs and IITs of India. It is one of the 30 NITs in India, and as such is directly under the control of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). NITSRI was established in 1960 as the Regional Engineering College, Srinagar. The institute shifted to its present campus in 1965. As the Regional Engineering College, the college was affiliated with the University of Kashmir.The Regional Engineering College, Srinagar was upgraded to become the National Institute of Technology, Srinagar in July, 2003.
University of Kashmir (North Campus) & University of Kashmir (Zakura Campus a.k.a. Institute of Technology)North Campus of the university is situated at Delina, Baramulla. The Zakura Campus of the university is situated in Hazratbal, Srinagar and both are affiliated to University of Kashmir for all academic purposes. The campuses are also approved by AICTE for their respective technical courses in Engineering.
