Rara Lake: The Lake (also called Mahendra Daha) is located in Karnali Zone, Jumla and Mugu District and is the biggest lake in Nepal with a length of 5. 2 km, breadth of 2 km and depth of 167 m. It lies about 3200m above sea level with total area of {{convert|10.4|km2}}. This lake reflects the shadow of Sisne and Kanj[1] irowa mountains.[2][3][4][5]

She-Phoksundo Lake: This lake is located in Dolpa District of Karnali Zone in the lap of Kanjirowa mountain. This lake is deepest lake of nepal stands at 3900 m above sea level. It is 4.8 km long, 1.5 km wide and has a depth of 145 m. This lake is named "Rigmo" locally.

Fewa Lake: This lake is located in Pokhara, Kaski District of Gandaki Zone and is a very important lake for tourism. This is the 2nd biggest lake in Nepal and is 4.8 km long, 1 km wide and has a total area of 4 km2. This lake reflects the shadow of Machhapuchhre and Annapurna Mountains.

Tilicho Lake: This is the highest lake in Nepal standing at 4919 m from mean sea level. It is located in Manang District of Gandaki Zone. Its length is 4 km and breadth is 1.4 km. This lake was previously thought to be the highest in the world, but has since been surpassed.

Indra Sarowar: This is an artificial lake constructed for the hydropower reservoir of Kulekhani Hydropower Project is the Memory of Her Majesty's Princess Indra Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah. It is located in Makwanpur district with an Area of 7 km2.

Man Sarowar : It is located in the southernmost point of Tibet near the Nepal–Tibet border and is one of the pilgrimage sites for Hindu and Buddhist religions as it is stated as Lord Shiva's lake and the idol of Lord Shiva at the mid of the lake makes it true to some extent. It is known as "Pamchu" in Tibet and as "Manslu Ochu" in China.

Kamal Daha: It is located in Saptari district. This lake lies in Saptakoshi Municipality near to Bhagni Maleth and Chandra Canal. It is surrounded by the Chure Ranges saal forest from 3 sides and Chandra Canal from another side. Its area is about 2 km2. It is popular for Red Lotus flower and another few aquatic fruits. Beside these, it is also famous for local breed cat fish and other aquatic animals.

Now, this lake is protected by the committee for lake preservation, Saptakoshi Municipality, DDC Saptari and nearby community people.

"NADHI TAAL"

A unique property of Chandranagar VDC which has a historical heritage which is known as "Nadhi Taal." It's about 12/13 km far away from Malangwa, the headquarter of Sarlahi district to the East-North direction. It is the largest lake of Sarlahi District.

The infrastructure of this lake has been privileged by Nepal Army supporting by CDO, concerned ministry, elite and intellectual persons of VDC are genuinely great personalities because they have done very great work.

Jhilmila Tal (Lake) (झिलामिला ताल) lies in Kanchanpur District it is 21 kilometers from district headquarter and in is chure range at the height of 1528 meters.

To reach Jhilmila lake travellers have to cross the distance of 20.5 kilometers by road from district headquarter Bhimdattnagar and then about 700–800 meters of walk to reach this lake. Visitors find it very interesting because of fishes here and their jumping in groups.

This lake has religious and cultural aspects also, people take bath here after visiting Purnagiri (India) and Siddhababa, people have believed that curses and bad spirits get washed away after bathing in it. There are saal (shorea robusta) trees, pine trees and rhododendron trees around the lake, as well as different kind of birds that came from Siberia.
