  2. The Coaches Poll was introduced in 1950. Therefore, polls for prior seasons do not exist.
  3. Nebraska's earliest coaching history is unclear. Most of these "coaches" were nominal in their roles and likely only coached single games, if any. Nebraska played with no official coach during the rest of these seasons.&91;2&93;
  4. The MVIAA did not have any standings or award a champion during the 1918 football season due to World War I and the outbreak of the Spanish Flu.
  5. The Big 6, Big 7, and Big 8 were the same conference. The name was unofficially changed when the membership changed.
  6. Overtime rules were introduced in 1996, making ties impossible.
  7. Nebraska tied Kansas State for the Big 12 North in 2000. Kansas State was chosen to play in the Big 12 championship, having defeated the Cornhuskers in the regular season.
