It was built by the Louisville & Nashville Railroad in 1907. During the early 19th century, the station served as a gathering place for one of the social occasions of the small town, the meeting of the Sunday afternoon train.[2] The one-story wood frame building rests atop a low concrete foundation. It is roughly cruciform in plan, measuring {{convert|167|x|49|ft|m}} at its widest points. It is now in a very good state of preservation, although it was threatened by demolition during the 1970s.[2] The station was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 3, 1975.[1] References{{Commons category|Louisville and Nashville Depot (Evergreen, Alabama)}}1. ^1 {{NRISref|version=2010a|dateform=mdy}} {{National Register of Historic Places}}{{Alabama-NRHP-stub}}2. ^1 {{cite web|url={{NRHP url|id=75000308}}|title=National Register of Historic Places Registration: Louisville and Nashville Depot |accessdate=April 28, 2013 |publisher=National Park Service}} See also: {{cite web|url={{NRHP url|id=75000308|photos=y}}|title=Accompanying photos}} 5 : National Register of Historic Places in Conecuh County, Alabama|Buildings and structures in Conecuh County, Alabama|Former Louisville and Nashville Railroad stations|Railway stations opened in 1907|Railway stations on the National Register of Historic Places in Alabama |
