Lucknow institute Of technology (LIT) 362 is a private engineering institute with affiliation from Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow and approved by AICTE, Ministry of HRD, government of India. Institute is situated 0.5 km from Central Reserve Police Force headquarters Lucknow Post Chandrawal, Bijnour Banthara Road. It consists of 10 academic departments with a focus on education in engineering, sciences, polytechnic, Aeronautics & Engineering and management course. The institute has strong ties with industry which can be seen by its on-campus placements where students get placed with different companies.

Location

Institute is located 0.5 km from Central Reserve Police Force Headquarters Lucknow, Post Chandrawal, Bijnour on Banthara Road, Or 2 km from Kanpur road towards Kanpur Highway.

History

The institute was started in 2008 under the aegis of the Scholar's Educational Society. The college came under to Gautam Buddha Technical University, Lucknow till now. UPTU was renamed GBTU Gautam Buddh Technical University. Later GBTU was bifurcated into two different universities. One retaining the original name Gautam Buddh Technical University and other named Mahamaya Technical University. Institute is currently affiliated to Gautam Buddha Technical University.

Academics

Apart from 4 years B. Tech the Institute also offers 2 years Masters Programme leading to MBA, approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow. Undergraduate courses in six streams of engineering:

The college also carries out cutting throat research activities and also has a research and development department headed by Mr. Vipin Jaisawal Head of the Department, Computer Science and Engineering, and has filed for several patents in recent years.

Admissions

Students are admitted through counselling based on SEE-UPTU and AIEEE ranks. The SEE-UPTU exam is held in the 3rd week of April and the results are generally announced the next month. Over 85% seats the students are admitted through counselling and rest 15% through management quota.

Infrastructure

The college has {{convert|13.5|acre|km2}} of campus housing the academic departments as well as providing residential facilities to students and faculty. The campus has class rooms, laboratories, drawing hall, workshops, library, conference hall, and student support facilities like hostels, canteen, stationery shop, medical support, transport, and students activity center (SAC). The newer blocks built recently are equipped with dual elevator facility. Campus is under CCTV camera surveillance. The college also provides Punjab National Bank ATM facility at its entrance gate and 24-hr Canteen Shop, and a mini Canteen for hostel students. It also provides 24-hr ambulance facility in campus. An ambulance is available to serve the students to the best hospitals in the region. The college has carried out various changes in its infrastructure since its foundation. It has a playground where all the sporting events take place.

Library

Central library of the college has a selection of more than 37,500 of Indian and foreign authors with approximately 7,000 titles. There are more than 1000 journals of national and international editions including e-journal.The library is fully air-conditioned with internet connection for accessing e-journals and other sites of interest. The library catalogue is accessible on the internet to check the availability of books on shelf. The library is fully automated with RAMLIB library management software system. Large number of books are available in the reference section covering a wide range of subjects. The section is augmented regularly with latest arrivals. The library is an exclusive member of DELNET, the British council library, AIMA, IETE, IEI and the INDEST (Indian National Digital Library in Science & Technology). The INDEST consortium of e-journals enables student to refer to a complete range of IEEE journals online. To facilitate self-study, an air-conditioned reading room with flex-timing is provided where students can carry their own study material.

Hostels

There are two boys halls of residence, Lit Boys hostel hall of residence for the first year students, Azad Boys Hostel hall of residence for second year to fourth year students, Abul Fazal Girls hall of residence is the hostel for girls. Another girls hostel is newly constructed beside Abul Fazal girls hostel of Residence which is formally Lit girls hostel. It is a 5-storied building with lift facility. First year student boys reside in hostels outside the college campus, to maintain ragging free environment of college. The logo mascot was prepared by a hostler Arpit Agrahari.

Each of these halls has been provided with recreational facilities like TV, newspapers, and Wi-fi internet. 24 hours power backup is available in all the hostels. All the halls are in-campus triple-storied buildings. The second year hostel is a five storied hostel. it accommodates 200 students.

College entry time is 2200 hrs and exit at 2100 hrs. Girls are allowed to roam only till 1830 hrs.

Management and organization

The college is managed by Scholar's Educational Society. The head of the institution in the Director General who is assisted by a Director responsible for day-to-day decisions and an additional director. In addition, three deans for Academics, Student Affairs and Research and development are also there.

AntiRagging at LIT

The Supreme Court of India has observed that enrollment in academic pursuits or a campus life should not immunize any adult citizen from the penal provisions of the laws of the land. According to the directions of the Supreme Court if any instance of ragging is brought to the notice of the administration or the faculty, it is legally binding on us to report the matter to the Local Police. Due to strict abidance to the laws no ragging incident has appeared in the campus. The campus is completely ragging-free, seniors interact with the freshers in a positive manner helping and guiding them to focus of academics, imparting their valuable experience and knowledge, in return the juniors assist them in their work.

Life at LIT

College marks presence of students from different states of India.Most of them belong to the states of Uttar Pradesh & New Delhi. Daily classes are held from 09:00 to 17:00 hrs with weekends off. There are many societies and clubs in college which carry out technical and cultural events. 24X7 WiFi connection is available for the hostel students.

There is a gymnasium, tennis court, basketball court, badminton court, cricket ground, volleyball. Special screening of matches is organized during crucial matches of Indian cricket team.A well structured Auditorium is under construction along with an indoor Badminton court.

The distance of college from Lucknow station is just 30 km, a convenient connection to Lucknow. For shopping and other needs they head towards nearby markets and shopping malls of Phoenix mall, Lucknow, Vishal Mega Mart, etc.
