|former_name = Commercial College (1926 - 1951)}}Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) is one of the premier colleges affiliated to the University of Delhi granting undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.[1] Founded in 1926 in New Delhi, it is one of the most prestigious and oldest institutes of higher learning in Commerce and Economics.[2][3] The cutoffs required to gain admission in this premier institute are often much higher than other colleges affiliated with University of Delhi. As a result, SRCC enjoys an elite status as the most sought after commerce college in India and has established a reputation for attracting some of the brightest students in the country.[4]

History

SRCC was established by educationist and industrialist, late Lala Shri Ram. Apart from SRCC, he also owned the company DCM Shriram. The institute was established first in Daryaganj and shifted to its present location in the North Campus, Delhi University in 1957. The present location is a {{convert|17|acre|m2}} campus with educational and recreational areas.

Vittshala - The Financial Literacy Cell of SRCC

Vittshala - The Financial Literacy Cell of SRCC is a Centre for Community Engagement(CCE) initiative to spread financial education and awareness across the nook and corner of the country. It was launched by Shri Arun Jaitley, Hon'ble Minister of Finance, Government of India on October 17, 2016, from his office in the North Block, New Delhi.[5] Vittshala aims to make the nation financially literate and unfold the true potential of our human resources by disseminating financial literacy to the undeprivileged and remote sections of the society.

Under its aegis, various projects were undertaken since its inception with target sections being illiterates, urban and semi-urban labourers, villagers, women, children,etc. Currently, Vittshala is working on 3 projects namely Asha, Umeed and Sahay.

It also undertakes outstation projects, latest being the Project Uttara carried out in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand.

Student exchange programme

[6] In keeping with the vision of Shri Ram College of Commerce to be 'A College of Global Choice', The Office of International Programmes (OIP) creates and expands international synergies with acclaimed global universities and institutions through cross-cultural and academic exchange programmes. OIP facilitates collaborations and cooperation in education, research and academic activities by creating, developing and fostering international exchange programmes. OIP facilitates establishing dialogues and interactions on global issues while inculcating and nurturing talents of students to take them on a global scale.

Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship

In 2015, Shri Ram College of Commerce became the first undergraduate commerce college in India to set up a centre for startups. The operational cost of Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship is borne by NITI Aayog and other government agencies. Initial funding came from the alumni network of the college. The Centre was opened at the campus in presence of global alumni and representatives of some successful startups. It aims to tap the potential of the students and alumni as well as explore government initiatives to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship as well as give the space to create new products.

Global Business Operations

Shri Ram College of Commerce, a constituent college of the University of Delhi offers a two-year postgraduate diploma course in Global Business Operations. The college offers 68 seats in this course, among which 9 seats are reserved for SC, 5 seats for ST, 17 for OBC and 3 each for PwD and Foreign National candidates.

You need to a have a Bachelors degree in any stream from a recognised university with minimum 50% marks in aggregate of the subjects.

There will be an entrance test conducted online in which you'll have to answer questions from English, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Aptitude and Data Interpretation. There will be 40 questions of four marks each. In case of any wrong answer, one mark will be deducted from the total scores under negative marking policy.

The candidates qualifying the online entrance will have to attend the next two phases of selection including Group Discussion and Personal Interview before shortlisted for the final admission merit.[7]
