It consists of a woodend trestle supporting a galvanized steel flume, about {{convert|55|m|ft|adj=on}} long and about {{convert|4.5|m|ft|adj=on}} in maximum height. It was part of the Bay State Irrigation Canal. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.[1] It was deemed significant for association with irrigation and agriculture in the state and "as an excellent example of a structure designed to overcome a topographical obstruction", namely a draw of Lodgepole Creek. In 1994, it was "the best preserved and most visible" of several surviving aqueduct sections in the area.[2] References1. ^1 {{NRISref|version=2010a}} 2. ^{{cite web|url={{NRHP url|id=94001231}} |title=National Register of Historic Places Registration: Maginnis Irrigation Aqueduct / NeHBS No. KM00-039 |author=Greg Miller |date=June 1994 |publisher=National Park Service}} and {{NRHP url|id=94001231|title=accompanying four photos from 1992|photos=y}} External links
