It is the fifth university established by Manipal Global Education Services. Courses and programs being offered by the university are in the fields of Law, Engineering, Hospitality, Allied Health, Management, Communication, Design etc. It is located near Dehmi Kalan village, Tehsil Sanganer, Jaipur district. It has sister campuses in India, which includes Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal and Sikkim Manipal University, Gangtok. International campuses comprises Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Manipal International University, Malaysia and American University of Antigua, Antigua. HistoryEstablishment of the university was done in 2011 keeping in mind the growing interest of students in all disciples making it a private multi-disciplinary university in the state. Manipal University Group began by starting Kasturba Medical College in 1953. It established engineering colleges, dental colleges, pharmacy, and other colleges under the affiliation of different universities in 1957. The current president and chancellor of the university is Padma Bhushan Dr Ramdas M Pai.[1] The Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India, under the 1956 UGC Act, Section 3, gave MAHE (Manipal Academy of Higher Education) a status of a deemed university when the existence of professional institutions was limited to five. Today, the empire consists of 20 institutes including medical, dental, allied health, architecture, engineering, pharmacy, management, nursing, communication, hotel management, information science, biotechnology etc., offering Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral degrees in all such disciples. Education is provided to over 17,000 students in the university and its constituents. The alumni base is of over 65,000 including students all over the world. Sikkim Manipal University offers distance education facilities. RankingManipal University, Jaipur has been ranked 10th in Top 10 Universities for Academic Excellence, by The Higher Education Review Magazine. The magazine recently released a report '25 Top Private/Deemed Universities Survey 2016'. International collaborationsManipal University, Jaipur (MUJ) has joined with International institutions. n + iMUJ has signed MOU with n + i, a network of 70 frontline French Institutions. It enables students to do their project work/training at any of these institutions in France and have an international experience. Interested UG/PG students may[16] learn about institutions, programmes offered by them, scholarships/financial incentives available and the application procedure. One may also focus on funding opportunities by Indian institutions/industries to support the project work. ACCAThe university has academic collaboration with Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK. In this program, the student will have the option of obtaining a ACCA qualification along with graduate degree of B.Com (Hons.) Accounting. The students get 9 courses exemption of ACCA, if they pursue B.Com (Hons - Accounting) from Manipal University Jaipur. The core objective of this program is to impart deep knowledge of various aspects of commerce with theory & practice. The Program enables the students to appreciate emerging issues in the subject to take on real life challenges successfully. CIMACollaboration with Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), UK is intended to connect the B.Com and BBA students with the world's largest professional body of management accountants. It enables students to use the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation and be part of a global network. The students of M.Com - Financial Analysis get an exemption of 11 papers from the CIMA exams. CIMA offers five levels of courses. It is desirable that students complete all levels and become a member of the international professional body; students have the option to exit the course on completion of each level. CIMA accordingly awards certificates to the students on successful completion of the prescribed papers at each level. IEEEThe Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is a professional association. It was formed in 1963 from the amalgamation of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers and the Institute of Radio Engineers. Today it is the world's largest association of technical professionals with more than 400,000 members. Its objectives are the educational and technical advancement of electrical and electronic engineering, telecommunications, computer engineering and allied disciplines. IEEE-MUJ is the student branch of IEEE coordinated by the students. IAESTEThe International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE)[17] founded in 1948 at Imperial College, London is an independent, non-profit and non-political organization for operational and consultative relationship with agencies of the United Nations. With headquarters in Austria, it has presently grown to include over 85 countries. Annually IASETE exchange more than 6,000 students, playing a key role in the professional growth and development of students. The international organization focuses on exchanging students for technical work experience abroad. Students gain relevant technical training lasting from 4 weeks to 18 months. IAESTE aims to connect students with real work environment, industries, research institutes, employers, consulting firms and laboratories in foreign countries. It provides university students with technical experience and culturally enriches them and their host communities. Central LibraryA planned central library is built in an area of 100 sq. mt. having a seating capacity of 200 students. HostelsHostels on single and twin sharing basis are opposite the college campus. They are centrally air-conditioned and have separate accommodation for boys and girls.[21][22] Parents can also stay at hostel during their visit to the campus at nominal charges just Rs.800 per night. TransportManipal University Jaipur does not provide any transportation facility for students and staff from Jaipur and nearby areas.Jaipur city bus service ( Route No 26 Chandpole to Bagru) stops in front of University Gate, bus frequency is 40–50 minutes, fare is Rs. 15 for students to the first stop at the city. MagazineThe university has an annual magazine published by an in-house Editorial Board (EdBoard MUJ). Sports and GamesA Department of Physical Education has been established at MUJ for organizing sports and games events at Inter-collegiate, Inter-University, district, state and national levels to encourage athletes and athleticism. A good infrastructure has been established to host outdoor games like Cricket, Tennis, Basketball, Football, Volleyball, and Hockey. Indoor infrastructure like gyms, Shuttle badminton with wooden flooring, courts/facilities for Squash, Table Tennis, Chess, Carom etc. will be ready in due time.
