Manjalar (Tamil:மஞ்சளாறு) originates from Palani hills and runs towards east and joins the Vaigai River near Koottathu. There are nine anicuts and nine tanks in this sub-basin. It receives an annual rainfall of {{convert|775|mm|in}}. The total sub-basin area is {{convert|470|km2|mi2}}. The total ayacut of the sub-basin is {{convert|2155.53|ha|acre}}.^[1]

The Manjalar Dam spans the river near Batlagundu.
