Marc Nohr is a creative entrepreneur best known for co-founding integrated agency Kitcatt Nohr. He is currently CEO of London advertising agency Fold7.

Early career

In his early years Nohr was a child actor with stints in TV, radio and theatre for the likes of Channel 4 and the BBC. After attending Oxford and London universities; Nohr embarked on a career as a freelance journalist, writing for broadsheets and specialist arts titles. He also appeared as a commentator on advertising on the BBC[4] and Sky.

Nohr's first agency role was as an account handler, then transitioning into creative. He became executive creative director of Burnett Direct Marketing, before moving on to become managing director.[5]

In 2001 he started his own agency alongside industry friends, Paul Kitcatt, Vonnie Alexander and Jeremy Shaw, forming Kitcatt Nohr Alexander Shaw.[6] In the same year he was the founding columnist for Financial Times's weekly supplement for the creative and media sectors, writing about creativity in business.

In 2007, Nohr voted number 1 in Marketing Direct's 'Agency Power 100.'[7]

In 2011 he was named CEO of Kitcatt Nohr Digitas,[8][9] when the agency was acquired by Publicis Groupe and merged with Digitas.[10] He joined advertising agency Fold7 in April 2015 as its CEO.[11][12][13][14] Fold7 has global clients including Carlsberg[15], Hilton[16] and Amazon[17].

Investments and non-executive roles

Nohr is an active investor and advisor to tech start-ups in the mobile, delivery and entertainment sectors, including the app exchange TapDaq which sold last month (November 2018).[18] He has a long history of advising charities nationally and internationally including Red Cross,[19] UNICEF, Greenpeace,[20] NSPCC,[21][22] Cancer Research and the Tate.[23][24]

He's currently Chairman of JW3 (Jewish Cultural Centre) and was a member of the advisory boards of independent digital agency Zone, Social Chain and digital re/invention company Pivot.[25]

Other roles

Nohr has been twice elected to the board of the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising,[26] chaired the Direct Marketing Association awards, was awarded Honorary Life Fellow of the Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing for services to training[27][28] and is currently the chair to the IPA Commercial Leadership Group.

Nohr has spoken at various marketing conferences around the world including Canada, Cape Town and Korea, and has spoken at the London Business School and at the Institute of Directors. He also runs training seminars internationally for brands on a variety of subjects[29] and has contributed to several books including the 2nd edition of Industrial Organization, published by the Financial Times and Prentice Hall.

Nohr is also a qualified instructor in the Israeli system of self defence, Krav Maga, and founder of the martial arts school London Krav Maga.
