He then spent the rest of his career from 1963 to 1990 as a lecturer in the Department of Politics at Keele University. He received the Gandhi International Peace Award from the Gandhi Foundation in recognition of his efforts and of the success of the Jubilee 2000 campaign.[2][3][4] In 1992 he was the Liberal Democrat General Election candidate for Stoke-on-Trent Central constituency [5] and served as councillor for East Valley ward of Stoke-on-Trent City Council between 2002 and 2004.[6] References1. ^{{cite web |url=http://jubileedebt.org.uk/news/dr-martin-dent-obe-humanitarian-giant-author-brand-jubilee |title=Dr Martin Dent OBE: a humanitarian giant and the author of ‘Brand Jubilee’ |date=June 22, 2014 |publisher=Jubilee Debt Campaign}} {{Footer Gandhi International Peace Award recipients}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Dent, Martin}}2. ^[https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/obituaries/10875464/Martin-Dent-obituary.html Martin Dent Daily Telegraph obituary].
