It allows enrollees to compare health insurance plans and provides those who qualify with access to tax credits. It also provides access to Medicaid enrollment for low-income Marylanders. Enrollment started on October 1, 2013.[1] As of February 1, 2014, 29,059 people had enrolled in private health plans through Maryland Health Connection.[2] The marketplace is also due to open to small businesses starting in January 2015.[3] StaffCarolyn Quattrocki, the executive director of Maryland Health Benefit Exchange has recently resigned. Quattrocki was a deputy legislative officer and health policy adviser in the Maryland governor's Legislative Office in the areas of labor, insurance and health care issues. She also worked for Maryland’s Attorney General J.
