It is served shaken and chilled, often with a Maraschino cherry. Named for Canadian-American film actress Mary Pickford (1892–1979), it is said to have been created for her in the 1920s by either Eddie Woelke[1] or Fred Kaufmann at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba on a trip she took to Havana with Charlie Chaplin and Douglas Fairbanks.[2] References1. ^{{cite news|title=Mary Pickford Cocktail|url=http://imbibemagazine.com/Mary-Pickford-Cocktail-Recipe|accessdate=7 July 2014|work=Imbibe Magazine|deadurl=yes|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20140714205719/http://imbibemagazine.com/Mary-Pickford-Cocktail-Recipe|archivedate=14 July 2014|df=}} {{IBACocktails}}{{Mixed-drink-stub}}2. ^{{cite book|last1=Thompson|first1=Kester|title=Cocktails, Cocktails, and More Cocktails|date=2011|publisher=Imagine Pub.|location=Watertown, MA|isbn=978-1-60734-423-0|page=82|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=eZeJkmQ_IqEC&lpg=PA82&dq=%22mary%20pickford%22%20cocktail&pg=PA82#v=onepage&q&f=false}} 3 : Cocktails with fruit liqueur|Cocktails with rum|Pineapples |
