释义 |
In 1954, Matteo formed a professional partnership with American dancer Carola Goya, whom he married twenty years later. Together, Matteo and Goya founded the Indo-American Dance Company (the company also performed under the names Foundation for Ethnic Dance and the Matteo Ethno-American Dance Theater). By keeping flamenco alive in the United States in the mid-late 20th century, Matteo and Goya successfully cultivated a cultural link between Spain and America.[3] References1. ^{{cite news|url=https://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/29/arts/dance/matteo-master-of-spanish-dance-dies-at-92.html|title=Matteo, Master of Spanish Dance, Dies at 92|date=29 March 2011|work=The New York Times}} 2. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.sacreddanceguild.org/pdfs/matteo1.pdf |format=PDF |title=MATTEO : February 5, 1919 – March 24, 2011 : Honorary/Life Member of the Sacred Dance Guild |website=Sacreddanceguild.org |accessdate=2017-02-23}} 3. ^Ninotchka Bennahum, "Flamenco Dance," The International Encyclopedia of Dance, Selma Jeanne Cohen and Dance perspectives foundation. © 1998, 2005 by Oxford University Press, Inc., p. 11.
