The area of the district is {{convert|28316|km2|sp=us}}.[1] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Novokiyevsky Uval.[4] Population: {{ru-census2010|14,803|;}} 16,028 (2002 Census);[5] {{su-census1989|20,393|.}} The population of Novokiyevsky Uval accounts for 29.2% of the district's total population.
