It is a farmstead built 1919–1928 during a regional agricultural boom sparked by winter wheat demand in World War I, and reflecting increased mechanization with its grain elevator and concrete block construction.[2] The most significant historic structure is the approximately {{convert|100|x|100|ft|m|adj=on}} barn, built c.1919. It has a complex roof with eaves and original wood shingles, built upon lower concrete block walls and a concrete foundation. It has been termed a variation of the "Midwest Three Portal Barn" type.[2] The listing on the National Register in 2011 included several contributing and non-contributing buildings.[2] References1. ^{{NRISref|version=2010a}} 2. ^1 2 {{cite journal |last=Nunn |first=Jessie |title=National Register of Historic Places Registration: Menter Farmstead |url=http://www.nebraskahistory.org/histpres/nebraska/deuel/DU00-062-Menter-Farmstead.pdf |date=2011-08-24 |accessdate=2013-03-03}} External links
