The episode was nominated for the 1999 Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation. PlotTwenty years have passed since the end of the Shadow War and Sheridan's death (and resurrection) at Z'ha'dum.Recalling Lorien's warning that Sheridan's life would be limited to about 20 years, Sheridan arranges a gathering of his past friends Michael Garibaldi, Stephen Franklin, Susan Ivanova, and Vir Cotto. They share dinner and reminisce about their departed friend : G'Kar and Londo who killed themselves to free the Centauri; Lennier who disappeared after nearly killing Sheridan and is presumed dead; and Marcus, who sacrificed himself to save Ivanova. Ivanova retires early, unable to bear seeing Sheridan near death. Delenn follows her and asks her to assume leadership of the Rangers after Sheridan's death. The others retire. Sheridan tells Delenn of his desire to travel in space a final time, and plans to leave the following morning for a "Sunday drive." The next day Sheridan says goodbye to Delenn, and departs Minbar. Sheridan stops at Babylon 5 for a tour of the station. The current commander, William Nils, tells him that the station, having fallen back to Earth's control, is being prepared to be scuttled as the shifting political landscape has now rendered the station mostly obsolete. Sheridan also meets Zack Allan, who is overseeing the decommissioning. He invites Sheridan to witness the ceremony but Sheridan declines. Sheridan takes his spaceship to Coriana, the location of the final encounter between the Vorlons and the Shadows, and finds his body's life signs fading. Lorien appears in the ship, telling Sheridan that the First Ones are waiting for him beyond the galactic rim, beckoning Sheridan to join him. A bright light fills the ship, which some days later is found adrift and empty. Ivanova, Garibaldi, Franklin, Delenn, Vir, and Zack attend the Babylon 5 decommissioning ceremony, where its reactors are overloaded to destroy the station before an honor guard of ships from member worlds of the Alliance. The others return to their duties; Ivanova accepts Delenn's offer and becomes head of the Rangers, with Zack becoming a Ranger working with Vir on Centauri Prime. Ivanova, in a final voiceover, recounts that Babylon 5 gave them hope for the future, and that Delenn would wake before dawn each morning to watch the sun rise.
