Horn is Maynard Ferguson's second album on Columbia Records,[1] and the first of his highly successful "M.F. Horn" series of albums. It was also released in Europe as The World of Maynard Ferguson (but with the sides reversed)[2] — not to be confused with the Roulette compilation with the same title.[3] His first record for CBS (The Ballad Style of Maynard Ferguson) was filled with easy listening/pop recordings, but this would be Maynard's first foray into the world of rock music. His recording of "MacArthur Park" would prove very popular with his fans, and would be a concert staple for many years. ReissuesIn 2005, M.F. Horn was reissued by Wounded Bird Records.[4] Track listing{{Track listing| collapsed = | headline = Side one | extra_column = | total_length = 20:43 | all_writing = | all_lyrics = | all_music = | title1 = Eli's Comin' | note1 = arranged by Adrian Drover | writer1 = Laura Nyro | lyrics1 = | music1 = | extra1 = | length1 = 5:20 | title2 = Ballad to Max | note2 = arranged by Kenny Wheeler | writer2 = Kenny Wheeler | lyrics2 = | music2 = | extra2 = | length2 = 5:25 | title3 = MacArthur Park | note3 = arranged by Drover | writer3 = Jimmy Webb | lyrics3 = | music3 = | extra3 = | length3 = 9:58 }}{{Track listing | collapsed = | headline = Side two | extra_column = | total_length = 24:21 | all_writing = | all_lyrics = | all_music = | title1 = Chala Nata | note1 = arranged by Keith Mansfield | writer1 = Keith Mansfield | lyrics1 = | music1 = | extra1 = | length1 = 7:50 | title2 = If I Thought You'd Ever Change Your Mind | note2 = arranged by Mansfield | writer2 = John Cameron | lyrics2 = | music2 = | extra2 = | length2 = 4:13 | title3 = L-Dopa | note3 = arranged by Mansfield | writer3 = Mansfield | lyrics3 = | music3 = | extra3 = | length3 = 12:18 }} PersonnelMusicians
