Michael "Azeu" Kamure (born 26 September 1976) is a Kenyan football manager and former player, who was most recently the head coach of FKF Premier League side Nairobi Stima.

Currently working at Football Kenya Federation as a Logistics Specialist.

Playing career

Michael Kamure started as a youth player at the age of ten years at Kenyatta youth team.In 1990, he was selected to join the Nairobi youth team and his talent got him shortlisted to the team that represented the country in the prestigious Aberdeen international football festival in Scotland at the age of 16 where the team finished third. After completing his studies, he moved to the Kenyatta Hospital football team where he teamed up in the midfield with former A.F.C. Leopards assistant coach Nicholas Muyoti and Ulinzi Stars central defender Mulinge Ndeto.[1][2] He moved to the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) and then to Trust Bank. His enthusiasm for player organization took over and he stepped onto the coaching path.

Coaching career

Kamure started his coaching career as an assistant at his former Kenyatta Hospital side before moving back to KEMRI. In May 2011, Ligi Ndogo Academy director Ibrahim Mbikalo gave in a strong recommendation for him to be signed on by the club as their head coach.

A holder of several coaching certificates from the Dutch KNVB Academy, Kamure's first match in charge of Ligi Ndogo ended in a 3-2 Nationwide League win over Iron Strikers on 19 May 2011. He led his team to a second-place finish in the 2011 season managing to set a club record of going the whole of second leg unbeaten and the team's best ever finish in the league. Its with this performance that saw several of the squad members scouted by several premier league sidea namely Tusker,Sofapaka and Muhoroni. In 2012,with a depleted squad,Kamure managed a sixth-place finish with 15 wins in 37 games in the league. He guided the team to five more wins the following season before leaving the club on 1 September 2013.

On 6 February 2014, it was reported that Kamure joined Nairobi Stima, who were promoted to the newly formed Kenyan National Super League, as an assistant coach ahead of the 2014 season. In January 2015,Kamure was promoted to the position of Headcoach at Nairobi stima f.c.he left the team after only four months in-charge.[3]
