The length of this line is about 7 miles and there are no stations between the termini. This line was built in 1993. This line branches off from northern line at Mihintale Junction in Anuradhapura.[2] OperationsTrains are not regularly operated on this line. Trains are operated only during the Vesak season. There is a high demand for the transport services from Anuradhapura to Mihintale on this season.
