Several Zapotec languages are called "Mixtepec", after the main town they are spoken in. They include: - San Juan Mixtepec Zapotec (7,000 speakers)
- San Agustin Mixtepec Zapotec (nearly extinct; apparently the "Zapoteco de Mixtepec" of the Mexican government )
- Asunción Mixtepec Zapotec (nearly extinct)
- San Miguel Mixtepec Zapotec (a dialect of Lachixio Zapotec?)
- San Mateo Mixtepec Zapotec (a dialect of Lachixio Zapotec?)
