The lighthouse is located on a small island in the Vestfjorden about {{convert|4|km}} southwest of the village of Kabelvåg and about {{convert|10|km}} straight west of the Skrova Lighthouse.[1][2] HistoryMoholmen Lighthouse was originally built in 1914. The original tower was moved to the island of Tranøy in Hamarøy Municipality in 1936. A new tower was built at Moholmen, and that tower was automated in 1974. The current tower is {{convert|13.3|m}} tall, and at the top there is a white, red or green light (depending on direction), occulting twice every 8 seconds. The 54,900-candela light can be seen for up to {{convert|13.5|nmi|km mi|abbr=on}}.
