Motus is the newest motorcycle manufacturer in the United States. Motus' partner in developing the MST was race car manufacturer Pratt & Miller, who were credited with product engineering, development, testing and validation for the MST.[6][7] The MST is powered by a 90° pushrod V4 engine that is mounted longitudinally, with its crankshaft aligned fore-and-aft. This is the first V4 ever used in an American motorcycle.[6] The prototype was first shown to the public at Daytona Beach Bike Week in March, 2011.[8] The production MSTR bike was ridden at Bonneville and set the official land speed record for the world's fastest pushrod-engine production motorcycle, with speeds of {{convert|163.98|mph|abbr=on}} and {{convert|165.81|mph|abbr=on}} for the records and a top speed of {{convert|168.69|mph|abbr=on}}.[9][10] References1. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/2014/10/article/motus-sets-new-salt-flats-speed-record//|title=Motus Sets New Salt Flats Speed Record | publisher=Moto Usa .com|accessdate=February 14, 2016|date=October 6, 2014 }} 2. ^1 2 3 {{citation|title=MST prototype datasheet|url=http://motusmotorcycles.com/mst-01.html|publisher=Motus Corp.|accessdate=2011-03-15 |archiveurl= https://web.archive.org/web/20130624172546/http://www.motusmotorcycles.com/mst-01.html |archivedate= June 24, 2013 }} 3. ^1 2 3 {{citation|title=KMV4 engine|url=http://motusmotorcycles.com/kmv4.html|publisher=Motus Corp.|accessdate=2011-03-15 |archiveurl= https://web.archive.org/web/20120321094901/http://motusmotorcycles.com/kmv4.html |archivedate= March 21, 2012}} 4. ^1 {{cite web |url=http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/motus-mst-v-4-review//|last=Cook |first=Marc |title=Motus MST V-4 Review | magazine=Motorcyclist|accessdate=February 14, 2016|date=December 19, 2015 }} 5. ^1 {{cite web |url=http://www.cycleworld.com/2016/02/18/2016-motus-mst-and-mstr-sport-touring-motorcycle-review-pricing-specifications/?|last=Jones |first=Peter |title=2016 Motus MST and MSTR|accessdate=February 26, 2016| magazine=Cycle World|date=February 18, 2016 }} 6. ^1 {{citation|url=http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/newsandupdates/motorcycle_news/122_1106_motus_moves_us/index.html|publisher=Motorcyclist|date=March 10, 2011|title=Motus Moves Us|author=Aaron Frank|accessdate=2011-03-14}} 7. ^{{citation|url=http://wheels.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/03/04/motus-motorcycles-sport-touring-american-style/|title=Motus Motorcycles: Sport-Touring, American Style|author=Lindsay Brooke|date=March 4, 2011|publisher=The New York Times Wheels blog|accessdate=2011-03-14}} 8. ^{{citation|author=Wes Siler|date=March 10, 2011|title=A Bike Worth Buying Just for the Engine|publisher=Wired Autopia blog|url=https://www.wired.com/autopia/2011/03/motus-mst/|accessdate=2011-03-15}} 9. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/news/motus-factory-sets-two-land-speed-recordsthen-rides-home//|title=Motus Factory Sets Two Land Speed Records…Then Rides Home | publisher=Motorcyclist|accessdate=February 14, 2016|date=October 7, 2014 }} 10. ^{{Citation |title= SWEET HOME ALABAMA!
