Its apparent magnitude is 5.217.[2] Parallax measurements by Hipparcos put it at 400 light-years, or 121 parsecs away.[1] Mu Coronae Australis is a G-type giant star with an absolute magnitude of -0.37.[3] Its mass is 3.065 times that of the Sun.
