He was the son and successor of Isa Khan.[2] HistoryAfter the death of his father in 1599, Musa Khan took power of Bengal as the chief of the Bara-Bhuiyans. Continuing his father's legacy, he resisted Mughal invasion for more than a decade until 10 July 1610 when he was dethroned by Islam Khan, the army general of the Mughal Jahangir, and imprisoned him.[3][4] Later during the reign of Subahdar Ibrahim Khan Fath-i-Jang (reigned: 1617-1624), he became loyal to the Mughal force. He actively participated in the conquest of Tripura and the suppression of revolt in Kamrup.[2] DeathHe died in 1623 in Dhaka. He was buried in Bagh-i-Musa-Khan, close to Musa Khan Mosque.
