In 1941, she was run down and sunk by {{HMS|Campbelltown|I42|6}} in the Mersey Estuary. She was salvaged in 1942, repaired and passed to the Ministry of War Transport (MoWT), renamed Empire Estuary. She was sold into merchant service in 1946 and renamed Goldfawn. A further sale in 1952 saw her renamed Creekdawn. A sale to an Irish company in 1954 saw her renamed Murell. She served until 1972, when she was scrapped. DescriptionThe ship was built in 1940 by Goole Shipbuilding & Repairing Co Ltd, Goole, Yorkshire.[1] She was yard number 350.[2] The ship was {{convert|133|ft|8|in|m|2}} long, with a beam of {{convert|24|ft|7|in|m|2}}. She had a depth of {{convert|7|ft|5|in|m|2}}, and a draught of {{convert|9|ft|6+3/4|in|m}}. She was assessed at {{GRT|319}}, {{NRT|163}},[3]The ship was propelled by a 115 nhp two-stroke Single Cycle, Single Action diesel engine, which had six cylinders of {{convert|10+1/2|in|mm}} diameter by {{convert|13+1/2|in|mm}} stroke driving a single screw propeller.
