Swami Namananda Giri attained moksha in Sept 2009, and Namaji nominated his long time disciple Sri B Arun who did seva to him for 17 years and who also served Swami Haridhos Giri for a year before that, to succeed him. Namaji gave him sanyasa dheekshai in secret, front of Sathgurunathar in Thennangur, but told him to wait until the right moment to accept it fully in public. Namaji’s successor who is the current Peetathipathi of Sri Gnanananda Giri Peetam is Swami Niranjanananda Giri (dheekshai name).
