It is located in the centre of the town of Namsos, just north of the mouth of the river Namsen. It is the church for the Namsos parish which is part of the Namdal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The large, rectangular, brick church was built in 1960 to replace the previous one which was bombed and burned during World War II. The church was designed by architect Ola B.
