In that context, nang can mean either kangāl ({{lang-pa|ਕੰਗਾਲ}} "destitute") or nanga (one without clothes).[1] If a member of Nihang army is convicted via court-martial, his royal blue uniform is removed and his license of to keep arms is cancelled, leading to his excommunication from the Khalsa.
