Nate 'n Al Delicatessen is located on Beverly Drive in the Rodeo Drive shopping area of Beverly Hills, California. This restaurant opened in 1945, often serving as an informal office and meeting place for show business personalities, agents and executives, as well as those hoping to break into "the business.” HistoryNate ’n Al was started in 1945 by friends Al Mendelson and Nate Rimer. Many of the original recipes are still used in the restaurant today, and over the years the deli has earned many accolades. LA Weekly ranked the deli’s its matzo ball soup #1 in the magazine’s “Top 5 Matzo Ball Soups in Los Angeles."[1] CBS/Los Angeles ranked the deli’s Corned Beef Reuben Sandwich on its list of the "Best Reubens in Los Angeles."[2] In 2015, Nate ‘n Al was awarded the Will Rogers Award for Best Historic Restaurant in Beverly Hills[3]. OwnershipAfter remaining a family restaurant for three generations, in February 2018, it was rumored that the original owners planned to sell the restaurant, possibly leading to its closure.[4] This prompted devoted customers, including Larry King, to publicly plea for an investor to save it.[5] In January 2019, it was announced that a group of investors including Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford, Mike Meldman, Jeff Shell and Jay Sures would purchase the deli and keep it open.[6][7] See also{{portal|Food}}
