The Senate Natural Resources and the Environment Committee is an 11 member legislative body consisting of a chairman, a vice-chairman, a secretary, and eight members. The Committee operates under a Senate mandate to regulate all aspects of procurement and use of natural resources throughout the state and the impact such activities have on the environment.[1] Scope and jurisdictionThe Senate Natural Resources and the Environment Committee has jurisdiction over energy resources and development. This includes industry-wide regulation on issues of conservation, use and maintenance of strategic reserves, and for standards of use of public lands and their renewable resources.
