The prizes for the contest include a box of Newmarket sausages.[6] The 2012 edition of the race was won by amateur jockey, Clare Twemlow, on a horse called Raifteiri.[7] In 2011, the Town Plate was won by Newmarket trainer and town councillor John Berry, riding his own horse Kadouchski.[8] References1. ^1 2 3 {{cite web |url=http://newmarket.thejockeyclub.co.uk/the-newmarket-town-plate |title=Newmarket Town Plate |publisher=Newmarket Racecourse |accessdate=22 April 2013}} [1][2][3][4]2. ^1 {{cite web |url=http://www.thejockeyclub.co.uk/news/executive-gears-up-for-newmarket-town-plate |title=Executive gears up for Newmarket Town Plate |publisher=Jockey Club |date=26 August 2011 |accessdate=22 April 2013}} 3. ^1 {{cite news |title=Town Plate win a dream comeback for jockey Clare |url=http://www.newmarketjournal.co.uk/news/latest-news/town-plate-win-a-dream-comeback-for-jockey-clare-1-4208071 |newspaper= Newmarket Journal |date=30 August 2012 |accessdate=22 April 2013}} 4. ^1 {{cite news |title=Trainer Berry takes the Plate |url=http://www.newmarketjournal.co.uk/lifestyle/lifestyle-and-leisure-news/trainer-berry-takes-the-plate-1-3018243 |newspaper= Newmarket Journal |date=6 September 2011 |accessdate=9 May 2013}} }}{{horseracing-stub}} 2 : Horse races|Horse racing in Great Britain |
