He was born in Fosnes. He became a legend during the Battle of Trangen on 25 April 1808, leading his infantry regiment first from a roof, then from a tree stump with the height of a man. The stump was later named after him ({{lang-no|Drejerstubben}}), a series of myths developed after his death, and he became a national symbol in 1814 and in 1905.[1][2] References1. ^{{cite encyclopedia|year=|title=Nicolay Drejer |encyclopedia=Norsk biografisk leksikon|first=Terje |last=Bratberg |authorlink= |editor=Helle, Knut|publisher=Kunnskapsforlaget |location=Oslo |url=http://www.snl.no/.nbl_biografi/Nicolay_Drejer/utdypning |language=Norwegian |accessdate=5 November 2011}} {{DEFAULTSORT:Drejer, Nicolay Peter}}{{Norway-mil-bio-stub}}2. ^{{cite encyclopedia|title=Nicolay Peter Drejer |encyclopedia=Store norske leksikon|editor=Henriksen, Petter |publisher=Kunnskapsforlaget |location=Oslo |url=http://www.snl.no/Nicolay_Peter_Drejer |language=Norwegian |accessdate=5 November 2011}} 4 : 1773 births|1808 deaths|People from Nord-Trøndelag|Norwegian military personnel killed in the Napoleonic Wars |
