He together with his companies have invested into various industry sectors through private equity participation with foreign and local investors. He is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of the United Kingdom of the Chartered Public Accountants of Australia. He is also an Attorney at Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka, Notary Public and registered Company Secretary. CareerPrior to co-founding Frontier Capital Partners in 2011, Sumanadeera served as the Vice President of Asia Capital PLC, an investment bank and director, consultant and advisor to many companies including that of Asia Securities, Asia Asset Finance and TKS Securities.[1] Sumanadeera has been involved in many major capital market deals and investment facilitations in Sri Lanka.[1] In 2011 he was involved in the sale and placement of the controlling shareholdings of Asian Alliance Insurance Company, one of the largest life insurance companies in Sri Lanka, on behalf of Asia Capital and Quest Investments. The transaction was completed for approximately $35 million (US), the largest merger or acquisition (M&A) transaction of the year. In 2010, Sumandeera was instrumental in facilitating a hostile takeover of Confifi Hotel Holdings Group consist of Palm Garden, Riverina and Eden, 3 hotels listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange, and in 2009 he successfully facilitated the sale of CW Mackie and Company on behalf of Aarhuskarlshamn AB of Sweden and Industrialization Fund for Developing Countries (IFU). He has also provided financial and legal advice to many local and foreign companies relating to the restructuring, turnaround and recapitalization. These companies include Asia Asset Finance, Kapila Heavy Equipment, Capital Reach Holdings and Asia Siyaka Commodities.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8] Upon setting up of Frontier Capital Partners in 2011, Sumanadeera embarked on investing into in many novel and innovative startup businesses in Sri Lanka in partnership with many young entrepreneurs. In 2012 he invested in Global Media Network Ltd, Venture Holiday Homes and Frontier Secretarial Services followed by Hybrid Homes (pvt) Ltd and Hybrid Construction (pvt) Ltd in 2014 a pioneering company specialised in manufacturing and marketing of houses and buildings using Shipping container architecture in Sri Lanka and Malaysia.[9] During the period between 2015 and 2017 investments were made into TukTuk Network (pvt) Ltd a Taxi Haling/Aggregator service for Auto rickshaw using both GPS and GSM Technology in partnership with Dialog Axiata,[10] MyLawyer (pvt) Ltd, Sri Lanka's First ever Online Appoinment and referral system for lawyer and First-ever Fact Checking and verification Service company in Sri Lanka FactCheck (pvt) Ltd.
