After five years of art school, he felt like he was at a good professional level. He spends a lot of time traveling, which influences his art. His earlier card art is hand-painted in oil paint, but most of his newer ones are digital due to time constraints.[5] He had a feature at GenCon Indy 2013.[5][6] His first commission by Wizards of the Coast, the makers of Magic: The Gathering, was for a set of five basic lands, as opposed to the usual one or two.
