词条 | Northern vigor |
释义 |
The exact cause of northern vigor is not known, but there are many theories. Some believe it has to do with the length of the days in northern latitudes,[2] or that it has to do with the combination of cold nights and hot days.[2] Others believe that the cold may kill off any disease that would otherwise affect plants from the south.[2] Still others think that the switch from a colder climate to a warm, less harsh environment makes it easier for the plants to thrive.[2] Researchers in Saskatchewan discovered that tubers raised in the cold and then moved to a warm environment undergo a series of physiological changes that may trigger more vigorous growth.[3] References1. ^{{cite web | url=http://www.saskfruit.com/pdf/19990185_10920029457.pdf | title=Northern Vigour® of Strawberry Crowns | publisher=University of Saskatchewan | date=March 2002 | accessdate=2013-06-11 | author=Lokken, J. | author2=Storey, G. | author3=Tanino, K.}} {{agriculture-stub}}2. ^1 2 3 4 5 6 {{cite book|author=Amy Jo Ehman|title=Prairie Feast|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=dNZ6fbbwMlAC&pg=PA216|accessdate=11 June 2013|date=28 April 2010|publisher=Coteau Books|isbn=978-1-55050-413-2|pages=215–216}} 3. ^1 2 {{cite web | url=http://www.ag-innovation.usask.ca/final%20policy%20briefs/CAIRN_13_Clark.pdf | title=Are clawbacks always efficient?
