词条 | Oil droplet |
释义 |
The adaptive advantage of oil droplets is not firmly established. Coloured oil droplets have a cost in that they reduce the amount of light available to the visual system.[3] They also reduce the overlap in spectral sensitivity between different types of cone (e.g. short wavelength sensitive, medium wavelength sensitive etc.). This can be a benefit because it increases the number of colours that can be discriminated, and calculations by Vorobyev (2003) support the hypothesis that this is of net benefit.[4] References1. ^{{cite journal |author=Robinson, S.R. |year=1994 |title=Early vertebrate color vision |journal=Nature |volume=367 |issue= 6459|pages=121–2 |doi= 10.1038/367121a0|pmid= 8114909|pmc= |url= |accessdate= }} 2. ^1 {{cite book |title=The Vertebrate Eye and its Adaptive Radiation |last=Walls |first=G. |year=1942 |publisher=Cranbrook Institute of Science |location=MI, Bloomfield Hills |isbn= |pages=55–63 |url= |accessdate=}} 3. ^{{cite journal |vauthors=Wilby D, Toomey MB, Olsson P, Frederiksen R, Cornwall MC, Oulton R, Kelber A, Corbo JC, Roberts NW |year=2015 |title=Optics of cone photoreceptors in the chicken (Gallus gallus domesticus). |journal=J.
