It is located in the center of the oblast. The area of the district is {{convert|2352|km2|sp=us}}.[3] Its administrative center is the urban locality (an urban-type settlement) of Orichi.[1] Population: {{ru-census2010|30,781|;}} 32,764 (2002 Census);[4] {{su-census1989|36,425|.}} The population of Orichi accounts for 25.9% of the district's total population.
