HistoryThe biscuits were first baked on the demand of the last Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan, who wanted a snack that was a little sweet and a little salty. Today, the evening chai is incomplete without these biscuits anywhere in the city. It is one of the cultural identities in Hyderabad and is especially sold in places like Charminar and Old Hyderabad. It was sold at the cafes like New Grand Hotel in the vicinity of the Osmania Hospital, demanding the bakers in the city to add the item in the menu along with the Irani chai.[2][3] References1. ^Osmania Biscuit {{India-cuisine-stub}}2. ^Osmania biscuit-A tough cookie indeed 3. ^{{Cite web | url=http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/life-style/food/food-features/Hyderabads-Osmania-biscuits-to-cross-borders/articleshow/47250214.cms | title=Hyderabad's Osmania biscuits to cross borders}} 4 : Biscuits|Hyderabadi cuisine|Telangana cuisine|Indian snack foods |
