释义 |
Pacific Title & Art Studio is an American company founded in Hollywood in 1919 by Leon Schlesinger.[1] At first, it primarily produced title cards for silent films.[1] As talking pictures ("talkies") gained popularity in 1929 and 1930, Schlesinger looked for ways to capitalize on the new technology and stay in business, and as a result, the firm moved into general film editing and post-production work. The company was sold in 2007 for US$23 million,[1] after which it "ran into hard times."[2] The 90-year-old company went into receivership and was expected to be liquidated.[2] In December 2012, former CEO Phil Feiner{{ndash}}who had been operating PJF Productions in Burbank, California, as a privately owned business since 2008{{ndash}}acquired the "Pacific Title" name after learning that it had become available. PJF now does business using the "Pacific Title" name and its classic logo.[3] References1. ^{{cite news |url=https://www.reuters.com/article/2007/03/29/safeguard-sale-idUSWNAS514320070329 |title=Safeguard Scientifics sells wholly-owned unit for $23 mln |date=March 29, 2007 |agency=Reuters |accessdate=September 18, 2017}} 2. ^1 {{cite journal |url=https://variety.com/2009/digital/markets-festivals/pacific-title-art-studio-to-be-liquidated-1118004696/ |title=Pacific Title & Art Studio to be liquidated |date=June 8, 2009 |journal=Variety |accessdate=September 18, 2017}} 3. ^1 2 {{cite journal |url=http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/pac-title-brand-relaunched-by-422229 |title=Pac Title Brand Relaunched by Former CEO Phil Feiner |last=Giardina |first=Carolyn |journal=The Hollywood Reporter |date=February 18, 2013 |accessdate=September 18, 2017}} External links
