Cronin joined the team during the 1943 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement following the completion of the 1947 championship. During that time he won one All-Ireland medal and two Munster medals.[1] Cronin also enjoyed a successful club career with Fermoy, winning one county championship medal. Paddy Cronin was a teacher at Curraghgalla national School, he taught from the late 1940s to the early 1950s as a Head Teacher.
