}}Parakuhlia macrophthalmus, the dara, is a species of grunt native to the Atlantic coast of Africa from Senegal to Angola. This neritic fish can be found down to {{convert|20|m|ft|abbr=on}} along beaches and rocky coastlines. This species grows to {{convert|20|cm|in|abbr=on}} in TL, though most do not exceed {{convert|15|cm|in|abbr=on}}. This species is the only known member of its genus.
