He represents Trinamool Congress.He is presently the Minister for Education and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs of the Government of West Bengal. He also holds the political office of General Secretary of West Bengal of the All India Trinamool Congress. Early lifePartha Chatterjee was born in Calcutta. His alma mater is Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Narendrapur[1] and then Asutosh College, where he studied economics. He holds a post-graduate degree in business administration.[2] CareerPartha Chatterjee worked as a HR professional with Andrew Yule. He was elected as an MLA from Behala Paschim in 2001, and subsequently re-elected from the same constituency in 2006.
