The Patriotic Party of Labour ({{lang-bg|Отечествена партия на труда}}, Otechestvena partiya na truda, OPT) was a political party in Bulgaria. HistoryThe party was established after the end of the Communist era as the political arm of the Committee for the Defence of National Interests.[1] It contested the 1990 Constitutional elections, winning a single seat.[2] For the 1991 elections the party joined the Pre-Electoral Union, an alliance led by the Bulgarian Socialist Party.[3] The alliance finished in second place, winning 106 of the 240 seats.[3] The party did not contest any further elections until 2001, when it received just 0.04% of the vote.[4] References1. ^UNHCR CDR Background Paper on Refugees and Asylum Seekers from Bulgaria {{webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20170418081431/http://www.refworld.org/docid/3ae6a6404.html |date=2017-04-18 }} UNHCR {{Bulgarian political parties}}2. ^1990 Elections to the Grand National Assembly {{webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20150614012135/http://www2.essex.ac.uk/elect/database/indexElections.asp?country=BULGARIA&election=bg90 |date=2015-06-14 }} University of Essex 3. ^1 Elections in 1991 IPU 4. ^2001 elections {{webarchive |url=https://web.archive.org/web/20120317075900/http://www2.essex.ac.uk/elect/database/indexElections.asp?country=BULGARIA&election=bg2001 |date=March 17, 2012 }} University of Essex 1 : Defunct political parties in Bulgaria |
