| synonyms_ref = }}Payena microphylla is a tree in the family Sapotaceae. It grows up to {{convert|45|m|-1}} tall with a trunk diameter of up to {{convert|160|cm|-1}}. The bark is black to reddish brown. Inflorescences bear up to 15 flowers. The fruits are ovoid to ellipsoid, up to {{convert|4|cm|0|abbr=on}} long. The specific epithet {{lang|el|microphylla}} is from the Greek meaning "small-leaved". Habitat is lowland mixed dipterocarp to montane forest, from sea-level to {{convert|2000|m|-2}} altitude.
