The books are also produced in audio format; read by narrator Robert Whitfield. The series’ intent is to "write about the philosophers' lives, [while] adding in a few of their ideas"[1][2][3] ContentsThe books and audio presentations are considered to be outlines of the given philosopher. Interesting anecdotes about the subject are pervasive, and lines are quoted from published works in "an epigraphic style". Each volume contains relevant chronologies, including a chronology of philosophy that is repeated in at least some books. Finally several suggested further reading titles are also included.[1][3] Titles in the seriesSome titles in series are: Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Confucius, Machiavelli, Descartes, John Locke, Hegel, Heidegger, Hume, Kant, Marx, Rousseau, Schopenhauer, Spinoza, and Nietzsche.[2][3] References1. ^1 {{cite news | last = Goldsmith | first = Francisca | title = Series review | newspaper = Library Journal | publisher = Reed Business Information | date = November 1, 1996 | url =http://pohrebnibratrstvo.files.wordpress.com/2008/07/plato-in-90-minutes.pdf | accessdate =2013-07-06}} *Also, a web page with the Library Journal review 2. ^1 {{cite news | last = Alexander | first = Daryl Royster |author2=Books section | title = Word for Word/90-Second Philosophy; In Bite-Size Portions, The Wise Men Made Easy | newspaper = New York Times | location = New York City | pages = | language = | publisher = The New York Times Company | date = May 14, 2000 | url = https://www.nytimes.com/2000/05/14/weekinreview/word-for-word-90-second-philosophy-in-bite-size-portions-the-wise-men-made-easy.html?pagewanted=all&src=pm | accessdate =2013-07-06}} 3. ^1 2 {{cite news | last = Bernstein | first = Richard |author2=Arts section | title = Critic's Notebook; I Think, Therefore I Am, but There's So Little Time | newspaper = New York Times | location = New York City | pages = 02 | language = | publisher = The New York Times Company | date = July 2, 1998 | url = https://www.nytimes.com/1998/07/02/books/critic-s-notebook-i-think-therefore-i-am-but-there-s-so-little-time.html | accessdate = 2013-07-06}} External links
