He was a member of the Gordon's Gin Boars who won the 1997 PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals against the Alaska Milkmen. Known as "The Fireman", he distinguished himself as one of the league's best three-point shooters, especially in clutch situations. He was the head coach of UST Growling Tigers Men's Senior Basketball team in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines from 2006 to 2014. In his first season as a head coach in 2006, he led the Growling Tigers to the UAAP title, beating the heavily favored Ateneo Blue Eagles 2–1.[2] A title that has eluded his playing career with the Glowing Goldies. He led the Tigers to three UAAP Finals appearances and is one of the most popular UST basketball coaches of all-time, to the level of legendary coach Aric del Rosario. Coaching recordCollegiate

He was fired towards the end of the 2014–15 PBA Philippine Cup despite doubling his win total in his first two conferences in the pro league at 4 wins and 5 losses. He remained with the team as a consultant.[5] On March 31, 2015, Jarencio was reappointed as the head coach of the Batang Pier.[6] References1. ^{{cite web|last=Terrado|first=Reuben|title=True to character, Pido Jarencio keeps mood light as he bids UST Tigers farewell|url=http://www.spin.ph/sports/basketball/news/true-to-character-pido-jarencio-keeps-mood-light-as-he-bids-ust-tigers-farewell|publisher=SPIN.ph|accessdate=31 January 2014}} {{PBACoach}}{{navboxes|list={{s-start}}{{succession box2. ^[https://news.google.com/newspapers?id=waVjAAAAIBAJ&sjid=biUMAAAAIBAJ&pg=1167,1415825&dq=pido-jarencio&hl=en Jarencio has the last laugh]. 3. ^http://philnews.ph/2014/01/30/pido-jarencio-is-global-ports-new-head-coach/ 4. ^http://pba.inquirer.net/44028/happy-ending-for-batang-pier 5. ^{{cite web|last1=Badua|first1=Snow|title=Pido Jarencio out as GlobalPort coach; Eric Gonzales takes over on interim basis|url=http://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/news/pido-jarencio-fired-axed-by-globalport-eric-gonzales-takes-over-batang-pier-pba-basketball|website=SPIN.ph|publisher=SPIN.ph|accessdate=27 November 2014}} 6. ^Pido Jarencio reappointed as GlobalPort head coach; Eric Gonzales back as deputy, Rey Joble, InterAksyon.com, March 31, 2015 | before = {{UAAPicon|FEU}} Bert Flores | after = {{UAAPicon|La Salle}} Franz Pumaren | title = UAAP Coach of the Year | years = 2006 }}{{succession box | before = Nel Parado | after = Bong dela Cruz | title = UST Growling Tigers men's basketball head coach | years = 2006–2014 }}{{succession box | before = Eric Gonzales | after = incumbent | title = GlobalPort Batang Pier head coach | years = 2015 }}{{s-end}}{{NorthPort Batang Pier current roster}}{{NorthPort Batang Pier}}{{Philippines Squad 1985 ABC Championship}}{{San Miguel Beermen 1987 PBA Reinforced Conference Champions}}{{Gordon's Gin Boars 1997 PBA Commissioner's Cup Champions}}{{UST Growling Tigers 2006-2007 UAAP Men's Senior Basketball Champions}}{{UST Growling Tigers 2012 Philippine Collegiate Champions League Champions}}{{PBA Most Improved Player Award}} }}{{DEFAULTSORT:Jarencio, Pido}}{{Philippines-basketball-bio-stub}} 15 : 1964 births|Living people|Barangay Ginebra San Miguel players|Filipino men's basketball coaches|Great Taste Coffee Makers players|Magnolia Hotshots players|Philippine Basketball Association All-Stars|Philippines men's national basketball team players|Filipino men's basketball players|Pop Cola Panthers players|San Miguel Beermen players|Shooting guards|Tanduay Rhum Masters players|University Athletic Association of the Philippines basketball players|University of Santo Tomas alumni |
