}}Piryaloi ({{lang-sd |پريالوءِ }}) is a small town of Khairpur District in Sindh province of Pakistan. The town is located on left bank of Indus River near Sukkur Barrage. The main access to the town is through Sukkur -Pir Jo Goth road at Piryaloi Pul bus stop.[1]

History

Piryaloi, formerly called as Piryanloi, means Land of beloved in Sindhi. The town came to be called so after Makhdoom Muhammad Ismail Junejo, a dervish of 17th century, inhabited this place and people of surrounding area, out of love for this pious man, called his abode as Piryan (Beloved) +Loi (Place). Since then lots of people from far flung area come to visit this place.

Piryaloi is predominantly an agrarian town where main source of income of people is based on agriculture products.Date palm, mangoes are among major products of the region. A good number of people is also employed in government sector.

Piryaloi town has produced some good number of doctors, engineers, lawyers and other professional people who have migrated to other cities due to lack of basic Municipal infrastructure and other civic amenities.

On the other hand, the local culture of the town is considered to be retrograding which has resulted in many people fleeing the town. The town people has no doubt some very annoying and disturbing customs and rituals which does not allow anyone to prosper and live to its fullest extent, whilst people are over concerned about socialization, the case is such that they neglect some basic necessities of human nature such as privacy, literacy, growth and so on. Too much invasion of privacy to a disturbing extent and security issues which have emancipated from such culture has forced many families to migrate and totally cut-off their ties with the town.

Famous Sindhi folk singer Sarmad Sindhi, political activist Noor Ahmed Memon of Sindhica Academy and director Sukkur IBA Prof Nisar Ahmed Siddiqi also belonged to this place.
