It is located on the Fremantle line, 3.7 kilometres from Perth station serving the suburbs of Subiaco and Wembley. HistorySubiaco station opened in 1883.[1] The station closed on 1 September 1979 along with the rest of the Fremantle line, re-opening on 29 July 1983 when services were restored.[2] Up until the 1980s there was a freight receiving depot at this station, and a third platform. As part of the Subi Centro project, 900 metres of rail line and the station were sunk in 1997/98.[3] The elevated signal cabin was restored and relocated to Whiteman Village Junction on the Bennett Brook Railway in January 2000.[1][4] Until the opening of the William Street platforms at Perth station in October 2007, it was the only underground railway station on the Transperth network. ServicesSubiaco station is served by Transperth Fremantle line services from Fremantle to Perth that continue through to Midland via the Midland line.[5][6] Platforms{{tst|top|caption=[2764] Subiaco station platforms}}{{tst|stop=99221 |platform=1 |line=Fremantle |pattern=All stations |dest=Perth |notes=}}{{tst |stop=99222 |platform=2 |pspan=2 |line=Fremantle |lspan=2 |pattern=All stations, A, B |dest=Fremantle |notes=}}{{tst |pattern=D |dest=Shenton Park |notes=}}{{tst|bottom}} Bus routes{{brt|top}}{{brt|stop=[17520] Subiaco Square Road|route=97 |dest=to University of Western Australia[7]}}{{brt|stop=[12785] Roberts Road|sspan=2 |route=28 |dest=to East Perth via Wellington Street[8]}}{{brt|route=906 |dest=Rail replacement service to Perth station}}{{brt|stop=[16923] Hay Street |route=28 |dest=to Claremont station via Mount Claremont[8]}}{{brt|stop=[23518] Station Street |route=906 |dest=Rail replacement service to Fremantle station}}{{brt|bottom}} References1. ^1 [https://web.archive.org/web/20080721030836/http://www.righttrack.wa.gov.au/Portals/3/media/History_Fremantle.pdf History of Stations on the Fremantle Line] Right Track 2. ^Our History Public Transport Authority 3. ^[https://www.mediastatements.wa.gov.au/Pages/Court/1998/12/Official-opening-of-the-Subiaco-rail-tunnel-and-station.aspx Official opening of the Subiaco rail tunnel and station] Government of Western Australia 12 December 1998 4. ^"Western Australian News" Railway Digest April 2000 page 47 5. ^Fremantle Line Timetable Transperth 31 January 2016 6. ^[https://bitre.gov.au/publications/2012/files/report_131.pdf Understanding Australia's urban railways] Bureau of Infrastructure Transport & Regional Economics July 2012 page 12 7. ^{{Cite Transperth bus|97}} 8. ^1 {{Cite Transperth bus|28}} External links
