Appaiah is an Indian scholar and educationist. Early lifePonjanda Appaiah comes from Kodagu and is known for his work in Bangalore. CareerAppaiah was a professor who taught sociology.[1] He has also been the chairman of Sree Cauvery School in the city of Bangalore.[2] Important WorksHis works include a Kodava-English dictionary, a book on the history of Kodagu prior to 1600 AD and a book on the customs of the Kodavas.[3][4] In addition to his academic works, he has written a traditional poem in honour of Field Marshal Cariappa.
